A Free Verse Poem

  1. Oct 12, 2011 #1
    The Distracted Student

The function equals this-and-that value point zero zero five.
The numbers are so precise, so concrete and, so very impersonal.
I wish there were some sort of colorful "emotional-abucus."
Perhaps it could help us calculate, figure-out, some sort of
    "tangible-feeling" at any given moment.
A feeling we could grasp and hold onto like a Louisville Slugger
An answer is an answer, whether we like it or not.
    Those curious emotions
    Plague me.

The idea of a person having emotions and holding a Lousiville Slugger at the same time frightens me.
