Question: Statement 1: In order to stop a bicycle in shortest distance on a horizontal road, one should apply the breaks hard enough to just prevent slipping

Statement 2: Limiting friction is always greater than the kinetic friction between any two bodies.

    (A) Statement 1 is correct ; statement 2 is correct ; Statement 2 is a correct explanation for statement 1

    (B) Statement 1 is correct ; statement 2 is correct ; Statement 2 is not a correct explanation for statement 1

    (C) Statement 1 is correct ; statement 2 is Incorrect

    (D) Statement 1 is Incorrect ; statement 2 is correct

The question is from a test, which is the right option i think D is right ans but the ans key says A is correct. So is it correct?
