About MAG and MSG curves

  1. Jun 23, 2013 #1
    Hi.

I have a question about the way MSG and MAG values are given by some microwave transistor manufacturers.

For example, look at this figure scanned from HXTR-5103 datasheet:
    [Broken]

Why is there a discontinuity between 1.5 and 2 GHz? If you see its S-parameters (they can be found here: http://www.datasheetarchive.com/fil...arameter_cd/hp/obsolete/atf13xxx/f131003a.s2p), it's clear the device isn't unstable in that frequency range. So, what's happening?

    Thank you.
