Approaching a Terminal, passenger P uses the walkway and having heavy luggage allows it to take him. Passenger Q walks alongside the walkway and Passenger R walks on the walkway, both walk at about 1.2 m/s. The walkway is 40 m long and moves at 0.80 m/s. Calculate how long it takes for P, Q and R to reach the other end of the walkway.
Here is my attempt: t = d/s
P = 40 / 0.8 = 50 s
Q = 40 / 1.2 = 33.3 s
R = 40 / 2 = 20 s
Does it seem right?
Thanks,
Peter
