Airsoft Question - regards to gas pressure and KE output.

    Hello,

    First off, I have a question I want to share, also its a problem I've been getting mixed answers from. Hope you guys could lend me a hand :)

    I have a 1000ml canister of compressed liquid propane sitting at room temperature, lets assume 25 °C. I then transfer +/-1.9138 ml of propane (at 25 °C) from the canister to a new reservoir with volume 1.9138 cubic cm. The new reservoir traps the gas with a reverse free flow check valve, with .250 diameter (details with regard to performance and dimensions can be found via the link below).

    The gas from the reservoir is used to propel a .2g 6mm diameter spherical pellet. The contact nozzle that releases the gas has a inner diameter of 1 cm. And a total barrel length is 1.3213 cm, from the tip of the nozzle to the surface of the spherical pellet.

    The pellet then travels through a 650mm long barrel.

    Assume:
    -Leakage while the check valve is closed is neglectable.
    -Friction between the pellet and the barrel can be ignored.
    -Wind resistance is neglectable.

    Questions:
    1. What is the psi exerted within the reservoir after the propane changes to a gases state?
    2. How much force is needed to push open the check valve?
    3. What is the escape/leak velocity of the gases propane once the check valve is fully open?
    4. How long will it take for the gas to contact the .2g pellet?
    5. In an idealistic situation, what is the total KE transferred from the gas to the pellet?
    6. What is the maximum distance the pellet can travel on Earth, assuming the contraption is elevated 20cm above and paralleled to a flat ground, and how long will it take?
