American Flag

I hang an American flag sideways, with the staff being horizontal, and blow on it. It will swing, but will it ever stop? It being a pendulum, I mean, when does the pendulum ever stop moving if it does? Complete vacuum.

The fibers/threads in the flag will eventually produce enough friction to dampen out the movements.

If there were no friction at all, would the pendulum swing forever?
