Homework Help: Amplitude and period

  1. Apr 21, 2009 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
A mass oscillating on a given spring has a period of 2s. The spring is now stretched to have an oscillation amplitude that is twice its original amplitude. Which of the following is true?

    A The period is 0.5 s.

    B The period is 1 s.

    C The period is 2 s.

    D The period is 2.8s

    E The period is 4s.

    2. Relevant equations

    3. The attempt at a solution

    Is it C. 2s
Because the period is independent of amplitude?
