An Introduction

  1. Jan 28, 2015 #1
    Hey All

I'm Portuguese, became acquainted with physics during elementary school, reading books and magazines around the house, namely Science&Vie and school manuals from elder family members.

Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Universal History are my favorite topics.

My first science book ? Hubert Reeves, Patience dans l'azur/Um pouco mais de azul. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1342326.Patience_dans_l_azur[/URL] [Broken]
Favorite authors ? Feynman, Sagan, Penrose and Magueijo. Honorable Mentions: A.C.Clarke and Asimov.

Posters in my room during adolescence ? Albert Einstein along Steffi Graf.

Later, I pursued a career in computers and engineering and lost focus.

25 years later, it's time to get back to basics, to read, learn, and focus on my true love, science, physics in particular.

I hope to use this forum as an active member.

    Hi All !!

    Welcome to PF!

Have you seen the Prof Leonard Susskind Theoretical Minimum books on Classical Mechanics and Quantum Mechanics?

They may be of interest to you with your renewed interest in physics.

I was hesitant to start with a reading of my old Berkeley Mechanics Course books, a dull task...

Thank you for the tip. The Prof. material seems like a great way to restart. Books and Youtube lectures, yay !
