they say that the magnetic field is paralel
    to the plane
so cross product is 0 (sin 0 =0)

where is the mistake in my logic

    Right.
What's the direction of the magnetic moment?

from the solution i see that the magnetic moment is a scalar
    it doesnt have a direction

i know it should have a direction

    where is my mistake
