In summary, there are various factors that contribute to which political party a county supports. These include demographics such as race, education level, and income, as well as historical voting patterns and local political culture. Additionally, political organizations, interest groups, and campaign spending also play a role in determining party support. Overall, the relationship between county demographics and party affiliation is complex and varies across different regions and states.

It is interesting because it shows economic support in the primaries - this graph could enlighten us to how the presidential election will turn out. Economic giving is an indicater of part support after all...

1. Who conducted the study on "Who Contributes to Which Party by County?"

The study was conducted by the Center for Responsive Politics, a non-partisan, non-profit research organization that tracks money in U.S. politics.

2. What is the methodology used in the study?

The study analyzed data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to identify the political contributions made by individuals and organizations at the county level. The data was then organized by political party and compared across counties.

3. How recent is the data in the study?

The data used in the study is from the 2020 election cycle, which includes contributions made from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020.

4. Is the study limited to a specific political party?

No, the study includes data on contributions to both major political parties in the United States, the Democratic and Republican parties.

5. What can the study tell us about the relationship between political contributions and county demographics?

The study found that there is a correlation between certain demographic factors, such as income and education levels, and political contributions. Counties with higher income and education levels tend to contribute more to political campaigns, and there are also variations in contribution patterns based on race and ethnicity. However, the study does not provide a definitive explanation for these findings and more research is needed to fully understand the relationship between demographics and political contributions.
