Ansys FEA Problem Buckling instead of tensioning

  1. May 28, 2012 #1
Hi everyone, I'm new here and I thought this is probably the best place to find someone who could give me a hand with this.

I'm trying to run a FEA on a truss, but ANSYS gives me a weird solution.
The part is receiving pressure from below and its supported on each end (one fixed and the other has one degree of freedom)
The upper plate is supposed to be under a lot of traction but instead... it buckles!
I uploaded a video so you can take a look at it... I'd really appreciate your help!
    Thanks in advance
    Take care!

PS: I tried to post a link to a Youtube video of the simulation but I'm not allowed since I'm new to the forum.
You can search for it: Ansys Weird Result
