Ansys_Local Coordinate System

  1. Jan 22, 2013 #1
I have a question in Ansys about local coordinate systems? How can I define a local coordinate system attached to an element, so that when the element rotates, the coordinate system rotates with it. In other words, I have elements which have 2 nodes, and are longitudinal (MPC 184 joint element). I want one axis of the local coordinate system to be always in the direction of the element length, so that I give the axial material properties based on that axis, etc.
Do you have any idea? Thanks a lot!
