Any ideas?

  1. Aug 29, 2009 #1
    Hi everyone,

I have a 4000 word essay to write for my solid state physics course, and I just thought I'd ask for a few ideas on what may be an interesting topic. The essay should target a reading audience with some sort of tertiary physics behind them. Anyway, the general topic is advances in Atomic / Solid state physics, and their application in the real world.

Some suggestions the lecturer has made include Iron-based superconductors, Blue Diodes and white light, Giant magnetoresistance...

Now, I'm not a big fan of writing essays... so it's important for me to pick something I actually find interesting (and understand!).

    Any ideas?!

    Cheers.
