B.tech to ph,d in physics

  1. Dec 14, 2011 #1
    hi friends,
i am studying engineering final year in electronics and communication engineering.(no minor)
    my gre score:1300/1600(q:800 v:500 awa:2/6)
    my undergraduate score: 73/100
    no publications
    no internships
i want to do ph.d in theoretical physics, i don't know much about fields in physics. What i can do right now is i can score good marks in gre physics(say 900+).
i need a basic m.s program which can help me to study the physics and maths and helps me to find out my research area interest.
please suggest me some universities where there is a m.s program by that i can get a idea about fields in physics
