Homework Help: Balancing Equation

    Can anyone balance: barium chloride + silver phosphate yields silver chloride + barium phosphate ?

    You mean balance:

    a BaCl2 + b Ag3PO4 → x AgCl + y Ba3(PO4)2

    It works better with chemical symbols. It takes a little work, but you should be able to find the correct values of a, b, x, and y to make a balanced equation.

    Hint: since you have 3 Ag and 2 Cl on the LHS, the x on the RHS is going to need a common multiple of 2 and 3 to balance.
