Beat your penguin!

  1. Mar 25, 2004 #1
I thought this was rather hilarious and it gets rather addicting quickly. My personal best so far is 593. I can't get any higher than that.

PS- How do I post the pic to show that I got 593?

530 is the best I could get.

Just gave it a try. Can't seem to score more than 534. :( My penguin doesn't slide very far when it lands.

Just scored 558.6. I think the trick is to make sure that the penguin slides when it lands.

I started out as more of a line-drive hitter, then I seemed to evolve into a fly ball hitter. Never did get to 500.

Best yet is 490... should I hit it with a large angle, so it flies more but doesn't slide?

    544 now!

Oh great. The last thing I need is another time waster!

    491 so far.

    556! Now.

PS: I like the Reinhold Messner reference. But what the heck is a penguin doing in Tibet? Or is Yeti in the antarctic?

576.6 now. I just figured out that the bat swings when the mouse button is released. You have better controll of the timing when you click-hold the mouse as soon as the penguin drops, then release when you want the bat to swing.

I think there should be a polar bear that eats your penguin if you hit him too far...like past 556.5, so i would win

we need to change the polar bear's location to 578.1...

593.5!!!! Thats just wrong, I think your penguin is more aerodynamic

I believe 593.5 is most likely the maximum penguin flightagenessosity that is possible. I have been getting that score over and over again, cant exceed it.
By the way, if you want to post a pic, hit: Print Screen on the screen of your penguin landing, open some type of image editing program such as Paint or Microsoft Photo Editor, hit "Ctrl + V". The pic should pop up. Save the pic somewhere. When you are posting a reply, scroll down to Manage Attachments, click Browse on the pop-up window and locate the penguin image that you saved earlier. :)

I've had this game for a while, and got up to about 960.

    Hmm. Just scored 1096.1. :D

What's the trick mate? And where's your proof?
  20. Jun 16, 2004 #19
I got 578.1 after awhile. I didn't want to try my theory but I think it would work.

    ~My theory:
You want the penguin to bounce on the ground. There is a highest possible point in which you can hit the penguin and still have it bounce. Your goal is to find that point. Simply experiment by using the penguin and the shadows on the rock as measuring points as to when to click the mouse to swing. Eventually you should discover the ideal spot in which to swing and achieve high scores. Anyone who wants to test my theory is welcome to. Its probably what other people were doing anyway.
