Bluetooth connection with phone?

    Hi all,

I'm trying to get back into hardware engineering as I feel it's my weakpoint. I'm more of a programmer. So I gave myself a project. I just need some guidance with this.

I want to pair a bluetooth chip with a regular cellphone and just make an led connected to the chip light up when paired and light off when not.

I'll power the chip with a 3v coin battery.

Here is a chip kit I was thinking of buying to start the project.

Key factors here are the support for iphone4/android phones. Also code can be written to the module and there is no need for an additional microcontroller.

What do you guys think? Is there a better bluetooth chip to accomplish this?
