Currently going through the Susskind lectures on QM & looking for any recommendations for an introductory text that would be at about the same level. Not trying to become a physicist, just want to learn the basics

The best book that I have ever read about quantum physics is:
What is Quantum Mechanics, A Physics Adventure by Transnational College of LEX
It is a Japanese translation, but is easy to understand, covers a lot, and explains all the math step by step.
