Books are stacked one level at a time on the edge of a table. How many book lengths can the top book be made to extend past the end of the table if you have n books? The solution is given by the nth partial sum of the harmonic series divided by 2.

My problem is that with n books I want to be able to come up with a graph that can model the positions of the centers of mass of each book. In other words, if I have n books, I want to be able to know where to place the center of mass of each book in order for my pile to extend as far as possible.
