In summary: Miami cruise ship and a chemical leak at plant in Sugar Land, TX. Is there any possibility that any of these are related to acts of terror? The Miami cruise ship story seems the most plausible. Reportedly, there was C4 found in the explosives. Is this a pre-emptive response to Bush's forthcoming troop surge speech or the threat of going to war with Iran?Reportedly, there was C4 found in the explosives. This could be a response to the troop surge speech or the potential threat of going to war with Iran.

Broken news

The package was initially tested six times, and each time it came back positive for the military-grade explosive known as C4, the Coast Guard said.

The package was then destroyed, and a Miami-Dade County police bomb squad determined it contained sprinkler parts, said Zach Mann, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Miami.

i think the media likes to play up reports that Might have some Potential connection to acts of terror. this wouldn't be the first time there was a strange smell in new york after all. industrial accidents happen fairly often too, there was just a large fire at a petrol refinery in ontario a few weeks ago and there was no connection to terrorist anything.

I couldn't find out anything about the chemical leak in Sugar Land, Texas. Here's a story from Dec. 21, last year. Is this what you are talking about?

(12/21/06 - KTRK/SUGAR LAND, TX) - An ammonia leak at a Sugar Land ice skating complex has forced an evacuation.
