Homework Help: Calc Help!

    F is a function

    F = (x^a)(y^b)(z^c)

    x + y + z = 100

    The problem? Maximize F : solve for x, y and z in terms of a, b, and c

    Someone said something about gradients, so...

    ax^(a-1)*(y^b)*(z^c)=0
    by^(b-1)*(x^a)*(z^c)=0
    cz^(c-1)*(x^a)*(y^b)=0
    x+y+z=0

    Assuming that's correct... but where do I go from there?

    Nevermind, solved it.
