Can we plot tallies of changed input files together (MCNP VISED)?

In summary, it is possible to plot tallies of different or changed materials in the input file together in one plot using runtpe files in the MCNP VISED version. This can be done using the plotter utility and selecting the option to plot multiple tallies on one graph. The visualization tools in VISED also allow for customization of the plot. More information is available in the VISED help documentation.

Yes, it is possible to plot tallies of different or changed materials in the input file together in one plot using runtpe files. The VISED version of MCNP includes a number of visualization tools which allow you to create and customize plots. For example, you can use the Tally Visualization Tool (TVT) to plot tallies from multiple input files on the same graph. You can find more information about the various visualization tools available in the VISED help documentation.

Hello there,

Yes, it is possible to plot tallies of different or changed materials in the input file together in one plot using runtpe files. You can use the plotter utility in MCNP to plot multiple tallies on the same graph. Here's how you can do it:

1. In your input file, make sure that the tallies you want to plot together have the same energy bins and are tallied in the same units.

2. After running your simulation, you will have multiple runtpe files for each tally.

3. Open the plotter utility by typing "plotter" in the command line.

4. Select the option to plot multiple tallies on one graph.

5. In the next prompt, enter the names of the runtpe files you want to plot together. Separate each file name with a comma.

6. Choose the type of plot you want to create (e.g. histogram, line plot, etc.).

7. You can also customize your plot by changing the x and y-axis labels, adding a title, and adjusting the legend.

8. Once you have finalized your plot settings, click on "plot" to generate the graph.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. Good luck with your simulations!

1. What is MCNP VISED?

MCNP VISED (Visualization and Interactive Summary of Events and Detectors) is a software tool used for analyzing and visualizing Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) simulation results. It provides a graphical user interface for viewing and plotting tallies from MCNP input files.

2. Can MCNP VISED plot tallies of changed input files together?

Yes, MCNP VISED allows users to plot tallies from multiple MCNP input files together. This is useful for comparing different simulation results or analyzing the effects of changing input parameters on the simulation output.

3. How do I use MCNP VISED to plot tallies?

To plot tallies using MCNP VISED, first load the input files you want to analyze. Then, select the tallies you want to plot and choose the desired plot type. You can also customize the plot by adjusting parameters such as axes labels, legends, and colors.

4. What types of plots can MCNP VISED generate?

MCNP VISED can generate various types of plots, including 1D line plots, 2D contour plots, and 3D surface plots. It also allows for plotting multiple tallies on the same plot for easy comparison.

5. Is MCNP VISED only for MCNP simulations?

Yes, MCNP VISED is specifically designed for analyzing and visualizing MCNP simulation results. It cannot be used for simulations from other codes or programs.
