What is the value of a B.S. in math when applying to a HEP grad program?

In summary, a HEP (High Energy Physics) graduate program is a specialized doctoral program that focuses on the study of subatomic particles and their interactions in high-energy environments. Admission into this program is highly competitive and depends on factors such as academic background, research experience, letters of recommendation, and GRE scores. Students can expect to take courses in theoretical and experimental high energy physics, quantum mechanics, particle physics, and cosmology. Graduates of HEP programs have various career opportunities in research, academia, and industries such as healthcare, energy, and technology. The program typically looks for candidates with a strong background in physics and mathematics, as well as research experience and a strong interest in high energy physics.

Im currently in my second year of college, but am a year out from finishing the requirments for a B.S. in physics. If I keep the 18 hours/semester going I could finish a double major for math as well. When applying to a particle/high energy grad program how much weight would a B.S. in math hold (as well as a physics degree)??

Thank you,
worried student
