Homework Help: Chemical Reactions - Redox and Acid/Base

  1. Feb 1, 2007 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

    I basically have 4 sets of solutions which I have to write the chemical reactions for. I already figured out the chemical formulas for the reactants, and just need help determining the final products. I know how to balance, and just need help determining the products.

    2. Relevant equations

    a] KI + CH3COOH + C6H10O5 -->
    b] NaClO + H2O -->
    c] MgSO4•7H2O + H2O + C6H8O6 -->

    3. The attempt at a solution

    I determined how much of each element are present:

    a] K - 1, I - 1, C - 8, H - 14, O - 7
    b] Na - 1, Cl - 1, H - 2, O - 2
    c] Mg - 1, SO4 - 1, H - 24, O - 14, C - 6

    I do not know how to determine the products after this step. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
