Choosing an OPO

  1. Jun 2, 2010 #1
    hi,

i'm working in optic research for a month now and would like some advice on choosing the best opo candidate for a general task.

Let say I have a light source like XX:YAG, wavelength near or in visible red, and i want to generate an idler and signal each at double the laser output wavelength. This would be a degenerated OPO. From there where do I start to choose the right OPO? there is a lot of crystal available like the well known KTP.

does researcher use database or software, how can i approximate the maximum efficiency...

    thx a lot,
