Chopping/splitting wood question on estimating force

  1. Jul 24, 2010 #1
Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I would like to determine the feasibility of measuring/estimating forces in doing some things that will possibly seem rather strange to many. Here are some videos to demonstrate

    "Spine whacking"

    "Batoning"

"Overstriking" (the entire contents of this video does apply as well)

    http://www.spyderco.com/edge-u-cation/knifeanatomy.php [Broken]
    http://www.ltspecpro.com/triadlock1.html

I don't find any individual 'test' to be of use, but can I take anything from these various videos, along with photos, posts, and judgments made about these tools?
