Homework Help: Clothoid/Fresnel Integral - Determine arclength/radius

  1. Oct 10, 2011 #1
    Hi all, new here.
Needing some help on a bit of an issue. Trying to determine the size of a clothoid loop (radius/arclength etc.)

I have an input of 38.823 cm/s at the base of the clothoid loop, and I need to get an equal normal force throughout the loop.
Here is were I got lost.
    (equation in attached picture)

    I am lost.

    I tried using these:
    http://saecanet.com/mathematics/585-calculation-of-clothoid-curvecornu-spiral.html [Broken]
    http://www.saecanet.com/mathematics/293-calculation-of-fresnel-integrals.html [Broken]

but in all honesty have no idea how to use these to help me.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Also the bottom radius should be about 25 inches.
