Conceptual - Position Vs. Time

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

    Which of the following statements are correct/incorrect?
    1) The velocity is zero at point 4.
    2) At point 6 the velocity is negative.
    3) At point 3 the velocity is positive.
    4) At points 1 and 7 the velocities are about the same.
    5) At point 8 the object is farther from the origin than at any other numbered point.
    6) At points 3 and 5 the object is the same distance from the origin.
    7) At points 1 and 3 the object is on the positive side of the origin.


    2. Relevant equations
    Velocity is the SLOPE of the position-time graph.


    3. The attempt at a solution
    Tried 2-3 times but some of mine answers are wrong
    Herez mine:
    1 Incorrect
    2 Incorrect
    3 Incorrect
    4 correct
    5 Incorrect
    6 Incorrect
    7 correct

    Maybe you can describe your thinking on 4) ? Not necessarily saying it's wrong, just want to know how you arrived at it.

    ^at both points velocity is increasing, it looks it is a constant increase in velocity...........
    actually i don't know may b i m wrong............but do u know the actual answers to it ?

    OK I looked again. And 6 looks like they may be at the same distance though not the same displacement, one being + and the other -.

    I thought it was wrong last night and then forgot when I came back later.
