Consolidated drained triaxial test

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    Can someone explain why the phi theta 1 is found by looking at the gradient of line ab ? Why there's 2 different way of getting phi and phi theta 1 ?
    P/s : Phi means the angle the of the line of total stress , while the phi theta 1 means the angle of line of effective stress

    I think phi and phi theta 1 has the same vale , it should be found by referring to he angle of the line joining b and the origin ( as shown in the figure )
