Contravariant derivative definition

  1. 1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
Define the contravariant derivative X[itex]^{a|b}[/itex] of X[itex]^{a}[/itex] with repect to x[itex]^{b}[/itex]

    2. Relevant equations

    3. The attempt at a solution

    X[itex]^{a|b}[/itex]= [itex]\partial X^{a}[/itex]/[itex]\partial x^{b}[/itex] + [itex]\Gamma^{ab}[/itex][itex]_{p}[/itex] X[itex]^{p}[/itex]

Does that make sense/ is it right?
