Homework Help: Converging and Diverging Lens

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    Which type of lens can have a magnification greater than 0? Which statement is most complete?

    A) Both, and both converging and diverging lens can have any m > 0.
    B) A diverging lens only.
    C) Both, but a converging lens has m > 1 while a diverging lens has m between 0 and 1.
    D) A converging lens only.

    m=-s'/s



    3. The attempt at a solution
    If s or s' are negative, the m is positive. A converging and diverging lens can have positive magnification.
