Converging/diverging and real/virtual

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    A simple magnifier, like the one used by the legendary Sherlock Holmes to look for clues at a crime scene, uses a:

    a. converging lens to form a real image
    b. converging lens to form a virtual image
    c. diverging lens to form a virtual image
    d. diverging lens to form a real image



    3. The attempt at a solution

    I understand this to be B, because it would be a convex lense and the object would be behind the lense making it virtual. Is this correct? thanks in advance.
