Convert GNm to MNm

  1. Jun 3, 2012 #1
    Morning all,

a simple question but cant seem to get the answer in my head. Am i right in assuming that GNm is giga newton metres and MNm is mega newton metres?

If so what is 200 GNm-2 in MNm

Looks more something for tensile strength unit
    200GN/[itex]m^{2}[/itex]=200000MN/[itex]m^{2}[/itex]

Please see duplicate thread at thread 611017.

The unit name for MN is meganewton, not mega newton.

A giganewton per square metre is called gigapascal (GPa). Always use the correct, special name for a unit. E.g., 200 GPa, not 200 GN*m^-2.
