Countries to build the deathstar

In summary, the various nations discussed would all have trouble constructing the Death Star, with some more than others. Finland was mentioned as a possible builder, but due to national uproar it would be turned into an orbiting moonshine boiler. The US would be the biggest failure, while China would be the most successful.

On another forum we made a funny little joke about what nations would do if they tried to build the deathstar in relation to how their country normally does things.

If they tried to build the deathstar...

I said if the US tried, it would probably not finish it and it wouldn't work if they did
A UK guy said that "if the UK tried, it would be a fabulous piece of engineering but it would cost 10 times what it should and we'd be forced to sell it to the Germans."
Antarctica's deathstar will be made out of penguin skeletons

Insert your favorite country and how they would screw it up! That antarctica one wasnt in good taste as far as I am concerned :grumpy:

If it was built in Finland, it would be filled with toilet paper.

If the French built the deathstar it would be highly fortified, but easily bypassed.

If the Indian built the deathstar it would smell like curry, even from space.

If the Chinese built the deathstar you could crack it open and see your fortune.

If Microsoft built the deathstar it would allow the rebel forces in without conflict.

If Micheal Jackson built the deathstar it would collapse on itself.

If it was built in:

California - it would be called high profile and biologically challenging. The energy ray would have to conform as a class C firework.

Texas - it would be a lot bigger but with nothing in it.

Florida - it would be filled with retired people.

Oregon - it would be an Indian Casino and spotted owl zapper.

Michigan -it would be, well, cold.

Montana -it would be Ted and Jane Turner's house

Arizona - it would be there but nobody would go there.

Idaho - it would be KKK headquarters

If China built it, it would be fully functional, exactly as specified, produced on time, on budget, with no engineering or financial difficulties encountered at all.

Oh no wait, we're supposed to be joking here.

If it were to be built in Norway, the whole project would have foundered due to a quarrel of whether the operation manual should be written in Standard Norwegian or New Norwegian

... there isn't any left

'Seriously', if it was built in Finland, national uproar would dictate it be taken to use as an orbiting moonshine boiler rather than the 'actual' purpose.

if it was built by moonbear...

I'll leave this to wander in your guys' imaginations

Good ones Ivan! I just wanted to make a couple of modifications:

Ivan Seeking said:
Florida - it would be filled with retired people.
...and continuosly travel the solar system with it's left turn signal on.
Ivan Seeking said:
Michigan -it would be, well, cold.
...and take three times longer than planned because the United Deathstar Worker's Unions would renegotiate their contracts four times during the process.

And Darth would be lynched by stormtroopers soon after takeoff.

Lets wait and see how the Three Rivers Dam project goes before we jump to that conclusion!

OH NO YOU DIH-INT! You did NOT go there!

If it was built by Houstonians it would have the bestest air conditioning and the highest power bills...and it would smell like Stinkadena and all the inhabitants would have asthma. AND Ross Perot would claim credit for it.

If it was made in the U.S., Europeans would rave about how much deadlier it would be were it made in Europe. Canadians would insist that they could have made it if it wasn't for the Bush administration.

High above in the night sky we see:

If built in Australia, we'd put on fake weapons to make it look really 'killer'.

Every deck would have a large pool with wave generator for surfing and a well stocked bar.

Then we would go exploring the universe for the ultimate wave.

If it was built in Belgium, there would be 3 languages spoken on it and no one would be able to speak more than 1 language except a small area where people would speak 2 of these languages and would fight to decide which languages to speak... :shy:

Ow, not funny ? Not easy to understand ? That's the same for me, but however that's what apparently happens in my country...

If it were up to the Irish the designers would still be in the pub arguing about how to build it, the Catholics and the Protestants would be fighting over it, and the IRA would be devising a plan to blow London off the map.

Oh, we'd build it alright, but it would use a testosterone detector for targeting and would only work once a month. :tongue2:

And then it would break a week later.

If the US built it, Bush would probably order it fired at Bin Laden's most likely location and end up blowing up the planet.

If men built it, we couldn't find anything we wanted to destroy, and we certainly won't ask for directions! Besides, we forgot to make a remote, and we'd be too lazy to get up and press the button if we got there.

Oh on the contrary, if i was in charge, i'd be blowing up everything!

1. How many countries have the capability to build a deathstar?

As of now, there are no countries with the technology or resources to build a functional deathstar. The concept of a deathstar is purely fictional and not currently possible with our current technology.

2. Has any country attempted to build a deathstar before?

No, there have been no known attempts by any country to build a deathstar. The idea of a deathstar was popularized by the Star Wars franchise and remains a fictional concept.

3. Would building a deathstar be feasible for any country?

Even if a country had the technology and resources to build a deathstar, it would not be feasible due to the tremendous cost and ethical implications. It would also not serve any practical purpose for a country to build a weapon of such magnitude.

4. What would be the potential consequences of a country building a deathstar?

The consequences of a country building a deathstar would be far-reaching and catastrophic. It would likely lead to global conflict and devastation, as well as ethical and moral dilemmas. The use of a deathstar would also have severe consequences for the environment and the inhabitants of any targeted planets.

5. Could a country use a deathstar for peaceful purposes?

The concept of a deathstar is solely based on its destructive capabilities, so it would not have any practical use for peaceful purposes. Even if a country were to attempt to repurpose a deathstar, it would still have the potential to cause harm and destruction. Therefore, it is not a viable option for peaceful purposes.
