Current in a wire

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    current flows in a wire of circular cross-section, made of a material of uniform conductivity s. show the current is distributed uniformly across the cross-section.


    2. Relevant equations
    This should follow easily from the maxwell equations and j=sE i assume...

    3. The attempt at a solution
    my mind is completely blank, even though this should be really easy.. argh. help.

    Try Ampere's Law relating B to J inside the wire.
