Digital quantum batteries

  1. Sep 15, 2010 #1
There is some quantum digital battery under development which
will allow to store up to temfold times of energy as Li-ion battery.
    http://nextbigfuture.com/2009/12/digital-quantum-batteries-theoretically.html"
I have some questions in this regard:

1)Will not very strong electric fields in those capacitors cause ionisation of atoms and
    convert in electron gun?
2)Why they need to use namely nanotubes?
3)Which exactly quantum effects will prevent arching at nanoscale?

I know something about capacitor but not about quantum effects yet.
