Disabling ACPI on XP Pro Desktop Computer

How do I disable ACPI on my comp? I'm using XP pro, desktop computer. I did it a few months ago, but I had to reinstall my OS and need to do it again and can't for the life of me remember how I did it.

To disable ACPI on your XP Pro desktop computer, you can follow these steps:
