Do great apes get appendicitis?

  1. At some stage in our evolutionary past we must have needed our appendix in order to digest cellulose, now it's only function appears to be to make people ill (or kill them).
Presumably our cousins the great apes (at least the ones that survive mainly on leaves) still have a functioning appendix, so do they have the downside of getting appendicitis and if so do they get it more frequently than humans?
