# Domain and range question

lol... sounds fun..

hey data....

can't i just say the domain of g is ....

{x|x ≤ + 1}

ey data....

can't i just say the domain of g is ....

$$\{ x|x \leq 1\}$$
No... the domain is precisely those values of $x$ for which the function is defined. It isn't defined for $x = -2 < 1$, as you discovered a minute ago, so the domain can hardly be what you suggest here.

Your initial intuition, $\{ x \ | \ |x| < 1 \}$, was correct.

Sorry for confusing you.

its okay...thanks guys
