    Einstein's "Relativity"

What kind of maths is needed to understand this book? Would I be able to get by without calculus?

It all depends on how deep you want to go....you can learn the basic ideas without calculus, but you'll only be scratching the surface.

einstein himself wrote several very nice treatments using no calculus at all.
