    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
what will happen to the electric potential energy of a charged particle in an electric field when the particle is released and free to move?

    2. multiple choice
    a. it will increase
    b. it will change into kinetic energy
    c. it will remain unchanged

    3. The attempt at a solution

A charged particle in an electric field is like a mass object under the influence of the gravitational field. Once the particle is let go, it will move to lower potential, and its potential energy will be converted into kinetic energy as the particle accelerates.
