    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

    A laser beam, having a power of 100 MW and a diameter of 1mm, passes through a glass window of refractive index 1.59. Find the peak values of the electric field and magnetic fields of the laser beam (a) in the air and (b) in the glass.

    2. Relevant equations

    P = ε_0 E_o^2


    3. The attempt at a solution

    I found the pressure that the wave exerts on the conducting surface, to be 1.27 x 10^14 W/m^2

    and then I found the magnitude of the electric field to be 3.79 x 10^12 V/m
