Electromagnetism physics question

  1. Jun 14, 2009 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
A standard electromagnet has 250 turns. When activated by a current of 1.0 A, it can lift with a force of 10 N. What would happen to the magnetic force if
    a) The number of turns was increased to 400 without changing the length of the wire in the coil?
    b) The current was increased by a factor of two?
    c) The current was reduced to 0.75 A but the number of coils was changed to 500 turns without changing the length of the wire?

I do not really know how to do this, and cannot find any explanation in the text book
    help would be appreciated

    Re: Electromagnetism

Try looking up "solenoid" in your book.
