Homework Statement
two vessles contain the same number N of molecules of the same perfect gas. initially the two vessles are isolated from each other, being at the same temp T but at different P.
now partition is removed. find the change in entropy of the system when equilibrium is re-established in terms of initial pressures P1 and P2. show the change is non-negative.
The Attempt at a Solution
i assume V and P are not constant? only T is?
so ∆S = ∫C dT /T
so since T is constant, i assume ∆S = 0 ? regardless of p and V?
thanks
