Could be, thus my asking what global curvature he was exactly alluding to.I think A.T. is using the term "global" in a loose non-mathematical manner to mean that there exist length scales and time scales within the physical system for which space-time curvature is negligible up to second order in a perturbation series expansion and that these length and time scales are small compared to the length and time scales of the physical system itself.
