Being the mathematician that I am, the results I got in the regular poll were just too inexact for me. So I'm making a couple more threads to get exact numbers!

This one's for the 15-34 year olds.

Hey, what about our 12 year old autistic Einstein? What if he decides to vote?

Then he reports his answer and I include it, of course.

So first you get our age ranges, now your narrowing it down to exact age (you could just check my profile, bit lazy of you really...).

Next you'll be wanting a full address, followed shortly by bank details. I can see the polls now, "pick the digits of your account number", "pick the digits of your sort code"...

Shush! I don't want them to know!

If you're in the US, we'll need your social security numbers to authenticate your responses.

Okay. I got something like this in an I.Q. test once. So, that means the day after tomorrow you will be 18. Right? Am I right?

  • #15
Lol, following that logic then yes. But I'll still be 17 the day after tomorrow. Birthday's are annual :P.

On the bright side, halfway down the "young" list is still only a 1/6th down the three lists combined!

Is there anyone here younger than 15? I'm surprised that there aren't many teenagers here.

Yup, I'm very glad about that. Even so, I often feel old and nostalgic for the past; I wonder what I'll feel when I actually reach middle age.

My guess? The same way you do now... we seem to change less on the inside than the outside... we add a few skills, a patina of wisdom, but we're the men and women we always were.

1. How do scientists determine exact age?

Scientists determine exact age through a variety of methods such as radiometric dating, which measures the decay of radioactive elements in rocks and fossils, and dendrochronology, which uses tree rings to determine the age of trees and objects made from wood.

2. Can age be determined with 100% accuracy?

No, age cannot be determined with 100% accuracy as there are always margins of error in scientific methods. However, with advanced technology and multiple dating techniques, scientists can determine age with a high degree of precision.

3. What is the age range of 15-34 years significant for?

The age range of 15-34 years is significant for many scientific studies and research, particularly in the fields of human development, psychology, and health. This age range is often referred to as the "young adult" stage and is a critical period for physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

4. Why is it important to determine exact age?

Determining exact age is crucial for many scientific studies and research as it provides a timeline for events and allows for comparisons between different objects or organisms. It also helps in understanding patterns and changes over time.

5. Can age be determined for non-living objects?

Yes, age can be determined for non-living objects such as rocks, fossils, and artifacts. This is done through various dating methods such as radiometric dating, which measures the age of rocks and minerals, and thermoluminescence dating, which determines the age of pottery and other ceramic objects.
