Homework Help: Exam Problem I got wrong. Is it correct now?

  1. Jun 2, 2007 #1
Hello, I had a statics exam last week and got part of the following problem wrong. I redid it just now and would like to know if my solution is correct. I'm having a little difficulty in understanding parallel and perpendicular components of a force.

Here is the image: http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/8125/picture1vy2.th.jpg [Broken]

    I'm interested in part (b).

From my book it states that the projection of [tex]\vec{F}_parallel = \vec{F}\vec{u}[/tex]

Isn't this just the dot product?

    NVM I figured it out
