Homework Help: Expected values and Test statistics

  1. Apr 28, 2013 #1
NEVERMIND: I realised I had to break it down into a mini table and it was instantly solved :S

[STRIKE]1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    Table is attached.
They want expected value of the sometimes column. Now I have done expected values of actual values(Row and Column giving)...

    2. Relevant equations
Expected value = (Row total* Column total)/Grand total
    Test statistic = (observed * expected)^2 / expected

    3. The attempt at a solution
I am pretty sure I just do (26*120)/120 here... So 26. But that seems wrong, because the proceeding question is: Calculate Test statistic of the sometimes column, which I got 144.5 using the expected value. I am told this 144.5 is wrong by a few of my peers :\.[/STRIKE]
