Experimental Values vs. Theoretical Values

  1. Sep 30, 2009 #1
Hi, if say you are determining the speed of sound and you want to compare your values to the theoretical value, would you predict that your experiment values will be higher or lower than the theoretical value and why?

you have to anwer that without knowing HOW you measure the speed of sound? I could devise all kinds of experiments that will give values that are much too low or too high, but if I was serious about it I would try to eliminate all systematic errors I knew about and I would have no idea if the remaining error is positive or negative.
