Extinction phenomena.

    what experiments, if any, have been invalidated by the extinction phenomena.

    I do not think your question as stated is very understandable.
    The first thing I don't understand is what you mean by "invalidate an experiment" ?
    An experiment which has been correctly done is merely an observation of Nature and can not be invalidated, unless it has been done wrongly.

    You can invalidate an interpretation, but not an experiment.

    you mean optical extinction ?
